It was a beautiful summer day, and I was on a horseback trail ride with my second daughter, who was 14 at the time. We were with a group lead by an experienced guide who wound us up the switchback trails of mountains near Beaver Creek, Colorado. As our climb broke and I realized we had finally reached the top, we left the thick tree covered trail and popped out into the open fields of the mountain top. Much to my surprise, it felt as if we had entered a whole new world. The words that I spoke to the guide without another thought were, "I think we have just walked into a painting." I will never forget that feeling. There was light and beauty everywhere, and the freshest air you would ever breathe. I felt as it all was at peace and my world was limitless.
